Severn Valley Pétanque League

Welcome to the SVPL web site

Severn Valley Pétanque League (SVPL) as the name suggests is located in the Severn Valley region and has been active for some considerable time, we are not affiliated to the British Petanque Federation at present. The SVPL currently run a Summer League with matches being played on a Tuesday evening. We also run team, triples, singles, doubles and mixed doubles knockout competitions during the Summer League season

The Severn Valley Pétanque League Committee provides an effective administrative structure which enables the league to thrive. We are always looking for new players and new teams. 2025 League

For the 2025 season there will be 13 teams in total.
  • The league itself will be split into 2 divisions, there will be 7 teams in the first division and 6 teams in the second division
  • The 1st placed division 2 team from the 2024 season (Lakes Phoenix) will be promoted to division 1 and the team that finished bottom of division 1 in 2024 (Bewdley PC 'B') will be relegated to division 2
  • First division teams will play 12 games each, 6 home and 6 away, over 14 weeks starting on Tuesday 13th May
  • Second division teams will play 10 games each, 5 home and 5 away, over 10 weeks starting on Tuesday 27th May

2025 Competitions

  • Singles Knockout: First round to be completed by the end of June
  • Doubles Knockout: First round to be completed by the end of June
  • Triples Knockout: There are still places available for the tournament on Sunday 17th August at Little Lakes
  • Barbara Parkes Tropy: There are limited places still available for the tournament on Sunday 7th September at Alveley Social Club
  • SVPL Presidents Cup: Tuesday 1st July at Bewdley Cricket Club
  • Bewdley Presidents Cup: There are still places available for the tournament on Sunday 13th July at Bewdley Cricket Club
